Since August 2012 we are in Sotillo de la Adrada, Avila. The community is growing, and with us, also the number of people that come to our monastery to share faith, to pray, to participate in our encounters, to search together for God… Our chapel has become too small and it is time to build the church!

Dear friends, pax et unitas.
The Community of the Conversion (Sotillo de la Adrada, Avila) wishes to present to you the construction Project of the Church of Reconciliation, the Community's temple open to each person feeling the call to live the spirituality of Communion and to carry out a pastoral and social work in today's world, which will turn distance into closeness, hostility into hospitality, conflict into concord, hate into reconciliation and peace.
The Church and the Center of Reconciliation are called to be spaces of encounter between God and man, and of men and women among themselves.
The Community's liturgy as prayer for the world and the reconciliation work which we are willing to carry out, will become ways of salvation, of healing and holiness for each person, group or community in need of it.
We plead for your help so that this place where life flows, and life of reconciliation, may become reality and we may all cooperate and share the blessings coming from it.
This project is in God's hands. Today we would also like to leave it in yours.

The Church of Reconciliation will make memory of Christ, the Lord, Passover and definite Peace, Victim of Reconciliation, “He is the word that saves us, the hand stretched out to sinners, the way leading us to peace”, He has reconciled man with God, the entire creation sighs and longs for absolute communion, complete union in Him.

This title reveals a sign of our times. Our TODAY, our world, is in need of reconciliation and never before has man had such a strong sensitivity regarding the urgency of peace, harmony, reconciliation, unity.
In our church we will plead the Father, through Jesus Christ, for this world divided by so many discords as we are living. There the Spirit will overflow its graces, so that we may pass from being orphans to becoming sons and daughters in the Son, so that we may pass from enmity to fraternity, from discord to concord, through the gift of reconciliation.

We are called to offer with Christ, the Lord, one same sacrifice for the perfect reconciliation.
This Church will be a place of encounter of man with God, of men and women among themselves, of man with himself, and this will turn it into a sign of the law that moves all creation towards unity, “may all be one”, as it was the desire of the Lord Jesus, and will thus become, in the midst of the people, a burning, warming, illuminating flame attracting many towards God.

A temple built with traditional materials. A temple embedded in nature made out of materials from nature. Stone, Wood, Loam and Light. A place for prayer and for silence. For music and for inner retreat. For celebration and for encounter. |
